due to living with someone who "cares about coffee," i can tell you that the gooseneck kettle is beautiful but if you want to use it for pasta or even tea, you're options are: spend ~3 minutes slowly pouring out the water from the tiny spout (insanity) or take off the lid and pour from the body (inelegant, dangerous).
